The two individually hand-crafted guest houses combine Canadian wood-building craft and a cozy European-style interior with space and amenities for up to three persons. Out of sight from each other, they are located on a peaceful and natural treed 22-acre property in the riverside landscape by the confluence of Slocan River and Lemon Creek. Here, with their sidearms, ponds, and beaver islands the waters have created an exceptional habitat and unspoiled refuge for wildlife. Plus our own natural private swimming pool. Slocan Valley`s rail trail borders the property and offers wonderful hiking, bicycling,
swimming, and bird-watching all along the Slocan River. The English and German-speaking hosts who live on the adjacent property are happily on hand to make your vacation wishes become true.

Thanks for a peaceful and restful stay at Haus Lemon Creek. We were glad for the break from camping for a few nights. Great yard and hammock for swinging the baby. Great times swimming in the River, the Lake, trips to Nelson, Silverton, New Denver and Sandon. Several hikes Mt. Brennan and Idaho Peak. Action packed! Thanks again!

Thank you so much for allowing us to share your portion of “Eden” with us and for preserving this beautiful spot! We had the best time and only regret that it wasn’t long enough, but hope so much to get back here again next year, maybe every year – who knows? Good luck with your future endeavors. What else is to say but “Danke” – Thank you.

What a beautiful place you have! The property is lovely, and the cottage is one of the cutest we’ve ever seen. Beautifully furnished. We had a wonderful vacation here. The highlights were Idaho Peak, St.Leon’s hot springs, the Saturday market in Nelson and exploring the creek ending with a swim and sun on the bank, also a walk in the old forest. Thanks Elisabeth for the terrific map you put together pointing all the local attractions.

This stop in the woods in our around-the-world adventure was idyllic. We are not used to this type of forest where we live in Northern New Zealand. And we were privileged to see the autumn colours. So amazing! My camera is full of beautiful trees. Thank you very much.

Thanks very much for the warm hospitality. The cabin is even more wonderful because of your generousness and kindness. We were impressed by the beauty of the area and understand how the two of you have come to love this place so much. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to see your photos from the dives off the BC coast. Vielen Dank!

With warmest wishes,

Thank you for sharing your wonderful, beautiful, reflective place with us! It was just what we needed and more than we hoped for. Cooper loved riding the red bicycle (with no training wheels!). Kleigh loved the animals, especially the “squirrel part” and the Stellar Jays. Elise and Paul loved everything. Cold plunger in Lemon Creek, hikes and runs along the rail trail, quiet evenings with brilliant stars, amazing scenery, unspoiled land and water. We had the best time exploring the area and spending so much great time with our children.

Thank you so much for your hospitality, help and advice at every turn, Elisabeth and Michael. We have greatly enjoyed our stay here. We couldn’t wish for a more beautiful place and nicer hosts. Thank you for the wonderful hike, pictures on CD, strawberries and other garden products and your warm inspiring company. We also loved Mira’s different but curious presence. On a more practical note: the cottage is reamkably well equipped.

Our stay was fantastic. The area has so much to do and so much nature to enjoy. Truly another week or two would have helped. Thank you, Elisabeth, for telling us about the Mother Grizzly with her two cubs up Whitewater Creek. It was very special to be able to sit and watch them. Thanks for the help and hospitality. We enjoyed our stay very much. The beauty in this area is unsurpassed. Thanks for letting us enjoy it from this beautiful cabin.

We had a wonderful 5 nights here at Haus Beaver Castle. The weather was perfect – hot and sunny but cool at night. We enjoyed seeing the deer around the house; esp. the baby fawn with its big ears. We visited Sandon, Kaslo, Nelson, Ainsworth Hot Springs and the Cody Caves. Maybe the next time we visit the Slocan Valley we will do nothing!! We highly recommend the Cedar Creek Café in Winlaw and the Lemon Creek Lodge. I think the most popular side trip for our family was the boat trip to Nemo Creek with Elisabeth. It truly capped the essence and beauty of Slocan Lake and the wilderness of Valhalla Park. We leave with beautiful memories of a truly beautiful setting.
Many thanks to Elisabeth and Michael, for sharing this with us.
