Huben is a section of the market community of Matrei in Eastern Tyrol, about 7 miles away. Distance to the next town (Lienz) : 20 km.

12 km further to the East, there is Kals close to the Grossglockner, and 20 km to the West there is St. Jakob in the Defereggen valley. All around you, there are plenty of possibilities for hiking. For the Winter holidays there are wonderful skiing areas in these same places.

Arriving from the North: Take the tunnel of Felbertauern, about 28 km, Huben, cross the village and continue on the secondary road accross the Schwarzach bridge. At the tiling shop Staller, you have reached your destination.


Arriving from the South: Pass through Lienz, direction Felbertauern and Matrei in the Eastern Tyrol respectively. In St. Johann (forest) left over the bridge, about 6 km, then you pass by the ruins of Kienburg and the pumping station. After the two farm houses at “Fliesenverlegung Staller” (left) you have reached your destination.
