This newly built location is in a 1500 m2 garden/ parkland in the middle of an estate of 5000 m2 with playground. The pool with a wonderful relaxing atmosphere is surrounded by loungers in sun and shade, barbecue with pavilion for 10 persons and secluded areas for small groups. From the terrace there’ s a lovely view of Retz vineyards. The whole site is surrounded by a fence and romantically lit throughout at night. Lots of cycle and pedestrian paths to the Thaya valley national park go past the local inn, so you can keep fit and have plenty to do. If the weather’ s bad there’ s your apartment with living/bedroom, satellite TV, DVD, video, fully equipped kitchen with electric hotplates, oven, toaster, coffee machine, dining area etc., and also the leisure room with large screen, satellite TV with video, books and games. Disabled people are welcome here too.

This location is in Retzerland in Lower Austrian wine district, and you can travel here by car, by S-Bahn from Vienna or Znaim (CZ) or even by bicycle via the north-eastern wine road. And you can reach Excalibur City (shopping and leisure town with casinos) or the Freeport factory outlet in just a few minutes. Apart from the many bicycle and pedestrian pathways through the vineyards in Thayatal national park and in the neighbouring Czech Republic, there are lots of Heurigenschenken (wine bars) with regional delicacies and the best Austrian wines (DAC). You’ ll find the original setting of the TV series 'Julia' with Christiane Hörbiger, the largest wine cellar in central Europe, he last working windmill and of course the best-known festivals for miles around (Kürbis festival, wine harvest festival, Retz wine days etc.) and there are even cultural venues (Celtic settlement).

The entire garden is a nature park with no chemicals or harmful substances. Children (pool depth 1.60 m) and pets (2 cats in-house) by telephone arrangement. It’ s just right for wheelchair users, nevertheless not all areas are constructed for such purposes, so please telephone us. By arrangement we can collect from airport or station or ‘ wine-tasters’’ taxis. As private landlords we also offer for sale products from our own gardens (jams, pickled vegetables, sauces) and puddings. You’ &l find these in the breakfast buffet, so please try them!

Further details: You’ l definitely sleep well in the 1.80 m wide double bed. The bed settee with adjustable head and foot is not just comfy to sit on, but also a comfortable bed. The whole apartment is smoke-free. The bedroom leads into the bathroom which includes wash basin and mirror-fronted cupboard, shaving socket, hair-dryer and a separate bathroom heater. The kitchen is separate and contains all modern conveniences including crockery and cutlery. The decor panels on walls throughout the whole apartment create a pleasant atmosphere. All windows and doors face east (morning sun) into the garden with a view of the swimming pool. The covered entrance protects you from the rain.
